In 2004, Athens Clarke County
adopted a 24 hour smoking ban in "enclosed areas." These areas are
defined as "all space between a floor and a ceiling that is enclosed on
all but one side by solid walls or windows." A conviction of
violating this ordinance can result in a fine no less than $100 and no
more than $500.
